I became a school counselor because I believe every student deserves to have an adult in their corner who sees their strengths, believes in their potential, and helps them navigate the challenges of growing up. I love the opportunity to build relationships with students, advocate for their needs, and help create school environments where students feel safe, supported, and known.
This year, I am especially excited about continuing to strengthen our school counseling community across Iowa and celebrating the important work counselors do every day. I wanted to serve in an ISCA leadership role because I believe in the power of connection and collaboration. Together, we can elevate the profession, support one another, and ensure Iowa school counselors have the resources, advocacy, and encouragement they need to make a lasting difference for students.
