2026 On Track Events

Kick off the new school year with ICAN's annual On Track series, presented in partnership with ISCA. These events help Iowa school counselors start the year prepared to support students and families with the latest information, guidance, and resources for career and postsecondary planning.

New School Counselor & Graduate Student Virtual Bootcamp

Thursday, September 3 | 9–11 a.m.

This session provides a step-by-step guide for school counselors who are new to the profession, as well as graduate students in school counseling programs. Participants will explore the school counselor's role in career and college readiness and receive an overview of resources, tools, and strategies to support students across all grade levels, K–12. The session also includes practical guidance for building and implementing a comprehensive career and college readiness program.

School Counselor Virtual Summit

Wednesday, September 9 | 9–11 a.m.

Join ICAN and a panel of representatives from colleges and universities across Iowa for a dynamic virtual session designed for school counselors. The summit will feature updates on career and college advising trends, strategies, and best practices, along with an introduction to new tools and resources to support student success. The session will conclude with an interactive panel discussion featuring higher education professionals and opportunities for live Q&A.
