Kelly is entering her 6th year as a school counselor, with all of her counseling and educational experience in 6th-8th grade. This will be her 11th year in education overall. She was drawn to school counseling by her former high school counselor, who inspired her to become one herself and give back to students what her counselor gave to her. She is most excited about teaching a student ambassador leadership and service group this coming school year. Kelly chose to be part of ISCA to grow her leadership skills and to advocate for school counselors across the state, not to mention the passion she has for school counseling and counselors in general. She holds a master’s degree in school counseling from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Outside of school counseling, Kelly enjoys working as a waitress at a local restaurant and being creative with diamond art, dot art, sewing, and coloring, as well as spending time with her family. She also serves on several community groups doing service work and strengthening the community she is passionate about.
